Culture and Tradition

Dubai is a truly modern and cosmopolitan city, welcoming visitors from all across the world. It is a melting pot of hundreds of nationalities, which makes the Emirate a tolerant and welcoming place.

Visitors and residents of Dubai are encouraged to dress modestly, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.

Public Behaviour

When in public, individuals should act with restraint – cursing, overt displays of affection, intoxication or aggressive behaviour are offensive to the Muslim culture and illegal.

Dubai has very low crime rates and is considered one of the safest cities in the world. That being said, people should exercise common sense and take precautions where possible.
